GRAPHIC DESIGN
Beginning with an introductory graphic design course in high school, I quickly found myself drawn to design as both a creative outlet and a form of visual storytelling. After taking that first class, I began creating designs in Adobe Illustrator inspired by my favorite books, movies, and TV shows, which I later sold online as stickers and other merchandise.
In college, I continued pursuing graphic design through both coursework and extracurricular opportunities, ultimately adding a studio art minor focused on design, photography, and painting. The projects featured below include work from my design classes at the University of Georgia, my role as a graphic designer for the UGA Wesley Foundation, and a service-learning project completed for Downtown Ministries in Athens.
While I am not pursuing graphic design as a full-time career, I included this section in my portfolio because of the transferable skills it has taught me. These projects showcase my creative process from initial brainstorming to final execution, as well as my ability to develop original ideas within established guidelines. Whether working under class deadlines and project requirements or designing within an existing brand identity, I learned how to balance creativity with structure and strategy.
Today, I primarily use Canva for graphic design work and have developed strong proficiency through my coursework and internship experience. While I am a bit out of practice with Adobe Illustrator, I have previous experience using the software and am currently working to strengthen those skills further.
Georgia Museum of Natural History
Graphic Design Survey Class, Jan 2023 - May 2023
Pictogram Design Project
This design competition project involved selecting three species on display at the Georgia Museum of Natural History and developing them into pictograms, which were then translated into promotional posters for the museum’s “Eye on Conservation” exhibit.
With families in Athens as the target audience, I kept accessibility and approachability at the forefront of my design decisions. I aimed to make each animal feel inviting and playful, a particularly interesting challenge when working with a rattlesnake and a bumblebee, both of which children may typically find intimidating.
During the pictogram development phase, I completed three rounds of sketchbook brainstorming (shown below), refining my ideas with each iteration. I then translated these sketches into digital pictograms using Adobe Illustrator and designed the final posters in InDesign. Although my designs were not selected in the final competition, I chose to include this project in my portfolio because it demonstrates my creative process, ability to iterate on ideas, and skill in designing thoughtfully within a structured timeline.

Object Design Exploration Project
Graphic Design Survey Class, Jan 2023 - May 2023
This project pushed my creativity further than any I had completed before. I was tasked with producing 150 unique sketches of an ordinary fork, which reinforced the value of extensive ideation in the design process. It demonstrated that creativity isn’t limited by quantity, whether 150 sketches or 500, there are always new ways to interpret a single object.
After completing the sketches, I selected several of my strongest concepts to develop further, exploring elements such as texture, line, and pattern across different iterations. This project played a key role in shaping my approach to brainstorming. Rather than settling on my first idea, I now prioritize generating and sketching a wide range of concepts until I arrive at one that feels truly original.
Downtown Ministries
Offline Marketing Service Learning Project, Apr 2025 - Dec 2025
Welcome Packet Design
This project was completed in collaboration with my Service Learning Project, “Building Brand Awareness” with Downtown Ministries. The objective was to develop offline marketing initiatives to strengthen brand awareness within the local community. One of the required deliverables was a welcome packet for new members of the Downtown Ministries community. I was responsible for the full design of the welcome packet. The client was very pleased with the final deliverable.

I served on The Wesley Foundation’s Leadership Team for three years, working specifically within the Media Team.
